Dark romance

Filed under:

As drama rules this season, you have permission to don black again. The only difference being this time around it has personality, texture, shimmer and multifaceted shine that lends itself to mystery.

Don’t give up color completely, just tone it down. For inspiration, open you jewelry box to find garnet-red, deep bronze and rich topaz and add instant glamour.

Begin with classic black velvet trousers and a crisp white button down, an emerald satin belt and an amethyst plush bag.

Touchy feely

Heavy on texture, the key to this season’s sturdier fabrics is mix and match. Cozy up to contrast. Pair a velvet blazer with a tweedy cap and corduroys, a fur vest with a metallic blouse and jeans, a soft shearling jacket with suede slacks and a quilted bag. You don’t have to wait until evening falls to put on the ritz.

Amid the season’s sobriety, fall’s glamour still radiates grace, confidence and, above all, serious fun.

The only thing he misses is time. “When you are constantly going, things go by really fast. You don't get

Humour romance and drama packed into must-see show

When Sidmouth Musical Comedy Society decided to put on Little Shop of Horrors, the team knew that it would be a hugely enjoyable show for cast and audience alike. They also knew that it would be difficult to get people who did not know the show to come and see it. The title is not the most inspiring, giving the impression that it is going to be dark and gloomy. On the contrary, Little Shop Of Horrors is a 'spoof' horror based loosely on the 1960 comedy film of the same name. If you enjoy pantomime and musical theatre, you
