BROWN ROMANCE WAS BOUND TO FAIL - SHEENA

Filed under:

BROADCASTER Sheena McDonald has spoken about her romance with Gordon Brown for the first time.

Former Channel 4 newsreader Sheena, 50, who met the Chancellor at Edinburgh University, admitted their relationship had been bound to fail because of their strong personalities.

Sheena, who suffered serious head injuries six years ago after being hit by a police van, said: “I tell you what he’d think of our relationship - which is also what I think: two alpha characters don’t get on very well.

“Gordon was such a long time ago. To talk about that one relationship would be to skew who’s important in my life and who’s important in his life.

Vennela - Ice-candy romance

Vennela, as a name, sounds more rural. But the film in question is more urban than most offerings from Tollywood. Vennela is hoping to be in Telugu what Dil Chahta Hai was in Hindi. "Missed Connections” Brings Back Romance

Call me a hopeless romantic, but I get a warm fuzzy feeling every time I read the "Missed Connections" section of Craigslist.com. Part-personal ad and part-confessional, "Missed Connections" is an anonymous message board where anyone can leave a declaration of love/lust for a person who they might have only seen walking down the street or exchanged a few kind words with at a video store. As entertaining as it is to scour each message for a hint of yourself ("brown hair, blue jacket!?"), "Missed Connections'" value lies more in its insistance that love at first sight does still exist.
