The band’s readying its follow-up to 2003’s Stories and Alibis (Epitaph) (read Aversion’s review) in Long View Farm Studios in Brookfield, Mass. The act tapped producer John Goodmanson (The Blood Brothers, Sleater-Kinney) to man the boards. The band will be holed up in the studio until the middle of October working on the record.
The upcoming effort should be a lot less upbeat than its predecessor.
“While Stories was written with the message, ‘yield to love,’ I feel that Voices is somewhat a counterpart but also embarks on stories of betrayal, nightmares, ghosts, and of course a little love,” said front man Andrew Jordan in a statement. “The record also has a much darker vibe than our previous album. It constantly presents this feeling that your stuck in a dream world, and at the same time it also posses this feeling like your constantly being chased. I hope that our current fans as well as new fans will fall in love with this record.”
