Hollywood lives move quickly. Hollywood films sometimes reach Japan very slowly. Put the two phenomena together and you get the weirdly dated Jersey Girl.
Starring Ben Affleck as the grieving husband of Jennifer Lopez, who dies during childbirth early in the film, this is essentially another tribute to how truly, madly, deeply Ben and Jen are in love. Only death could ever separate them and, were such a tragedy to happen, the survivor’s life would be rendered empty and meaningless.
