FOUR Solihull couples who married after classroom romances stepped back in time when they visited their former school for the first time in forty years.
The teenage sweethearts, who all went to Moseley School, relived their schoolday liaisons at the secondary school in College Road this week after present day teachers invited them ahead of a planned reunion marking the schools 50 anniversary. ..TEXT “But for school we might not have met” said moth-er-of-two Jane Dredge (nee Herrick) who was in the year below husband, Clive, a 58 year-old painter and decorator, at the former Moseley Modern School. “It helped our relationship that Clive and I knew the same people from the same school.” They now live in Skelcher Road, Shirley.
Graham and Susan Sidley (nee Booker) were in the same class as Jane between 1959 and 1964. Susan, 57, said: “Boys and girls were encouraged to treat each other as equals and Graham and I became good mates.” ..TEXT The Monkspath residents who have three children, married in 1971 after rekindling their friendship at a youth club six months after leaving school.
On leaving school in 1961 Lorraine Dunn continued her relationship with fellow pupil Mike Partridge and the pair got hitched in in 1966. “Quite a few of us there in the period married boys in the same or next year group.” The Shirley duo have three children.

HOLIDAYMAKERS who booked through Wardle Travel shops in Sandbach and Holmes Chapel are being assured they will not lose their money after the company went into administration.
The shops are among 22 across the country which have been saved by Harvey World Travel. Another 18 have been closed with the loss of about 90 jobs.
